About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across the Bank's Operations, Credit, and Information Technology functions.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the DCEO will drive operational excellence, strengthen asset quality, oversee technology enablement, and ensure effective governance, regulatory compliance, and execution of the Bank's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and executive oversight of the Bank's Operations, Credit, and Technology functions.
- Translate the Bank's strategic objectives into operational, credit, and technology initiatives with measurable outcomes.
- Lead and mentor Heads of Operations, Credit, and IT to deliver high performance and operational excellence.
- Ensure efficient, secure, and customer-centric banking operations, including payments, client onboarding, reconciliations, and branch support.
- Strengthen operational resilience, internal controls, business continuity, and incident management frameworks.
- Oversee the Bank's credit portfolio, ensuring sound underwriting, portfolio quality, delegated authority compliance, and effective credit governance.
- Monitor credit quality, early warning indicators, portfolio concentrations, and emerging risks to safeguard asset quality.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives and oversee core banking systems, cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, and technology governance.
- Ensure compliance with Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) regulations, internal policies, and corporate governance standards across all areas under the portfolio.
- Strengthen audit readiness and ensure timely closure of audit findings and regulatory observations.
- Present portfolio updates, strategic initiatives, and risk reports to the Board of Directors and Board Committees.
- Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and disciplined execution across the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum 15 years of senior leadership experience within the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong executive-level experience across at least two of the following areas:
- Banking Operations
- Credit
- Information Technology
- Risk Management
- Control Functions
- Demonstrated experience engaging with Boards of Directors, Board Committees, regulators, and external auditors.
- Strong knowledge of banking operations, credit governance, digital banking, operational resilience, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to lead organizational transformation, strengthen governance, and build high-performing teams.
